Research Into Existing Music Videos

3 Professional Music Videos

3 Student Made Music Videos

I can see that in the professional and Student music videos they share common features. They both use lip syncing, they both use different locations and they have some sort of narrative. The professional lip syncing is allot more in time and believable although the amateur ones are still very good.

The main differences that I can see is that the Pegasus Bridge Video is mainly live performance whereas the student made ones mainly follow a storyline.  This tells me that Videos can vary in what they are and still be classed as a good video.

After watching all the videos I have noticed that lip syncing is used to help tell the story of the narrative but also shows the performance live. I like this because I think it makes the video seem more linked to the actual song because this way the video changes to a live performance. Thus making it look like the video is them performing the song. But I do know I don't need to use lip syncing as I can tell the story of the song through actions rather than the words.

The last thing I have learned from this is that the professional videos are more of a performance than a story. For example The Bruno Mars song is a dance and Pegasus bridge is a live performance of dancing. It is clearly a more ascetically pleasing video as it involves a largely choreographed performance whereas all the student made ones are actors playing the role of a character in a narrative.
